If you haven’t noticed I love lip products. They’re probably one of my favorite makeup items of all time and they’re so much fun to swatch. In this post I’ll be reviewing three different kinds of bareMinerals lip products. The products include: Statement Matte Liquid Lipcolor, Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss, and Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor.
Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor – Frenemy
Statement Matte Liquid Lipcolor – Luxe
Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor – Friendship
Statement Matte Liquid Lipcolor – Shameless
Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss – Flirt
Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss – Popular
The Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolors smell just like chocolate cake batter. I think I’ve said this everywhere on Instagram but I can’t get over how amazing they smell! I loveeee it, however, if you’re someone who wants their lip products to be fragrance free you’ll have to pass on these lippies. The Statement Matte Liquid Lipcolors have the same scent but less intense. The Gen Nude Buttercream Lipglosses have a scent similar to that of cherry flavored candies.
Consistency wise, the Gen Nude Buttercream Lipglosses aren’t sticky at all and aren’t thick. The Statement Matte Liquid Lipcolors are really moussey and dry rather quickly. Meanwhile the Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolors are moussey but have more of a liquid base. These actually don’t dry completely so they aren’t transfer proof and are a little tacky. The Statement Matte Liquid Lipcolors aren’t transfer proof either yet they dry like a traditional liquid lipstick.
Wear time for the lip gloss is typical, needs to be reapplied after eating and drinking. If you don’t eat or drink they last for a good about two or three hours. Both liquid lipsticks tend to stain a bit as they wear especially those darker shades. Also if you noticed, the applicators vary between the Statement Matte Liquid Lipcolors and the Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolors. I prefer the flat applicator of the Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolors because they apply a good amount of product and make good straight lines. The applicator on the Statement Matte Liquid Lipcolors is actually a little too stiff for my preference but it’s something I can overlook. Wear time for both liquid lipsticks on me were about 4-6hrs depending whether or not I ate or drank, since they aren’t transfer proof.
The Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolors are slightly more comfortable to wear versus the Statement Matte Liquid Lipcolors. The lipglosses are hydrating but you may need more coats depending on the color you choose to wear. Overall I like all three products but my favorite has to be the Gen Nude Liquid Lipcolors. If I were to recommend one for you to try it would be that one. Hope you enjoyed this review! Until next time, peace out!
