Finally ColourPop had a special event which included free shipping for domestic orders so I took the plunge and ordered some of their liquid lipsticks that I had been eyeing for a while. I made sure to order two colors that had warm undertones since I know those work best with my complexion. When I first opened both lipsticks I noticed there was a difference between the stoppers, the part of the lipstick that prevents extra product from coming out of the tube. The stopper in Bumble (the lighter color of the two) was missing, therefore, whenever I brought the applicator out there would be way too much product even when I first opened it there was already product leaking all over the rim of the tube which isn’t supposed to happen if it’s a brand new product. Meanwhile, the stopper in Love Bug was present and the rim was completely clean. The formula of the liquid lipsticks is very thin and watery similar to Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks and Sephora’s Cream Lip Stains.

Since Bumble was missing a stopper I contacted their customer service department to explain my issue and they were kind enough to send me a replacement. However, the replacement was also missing a stopper! Guess Bumble isn’t meant to have a stopper. Anyway, these lipsticks as you can notice from the pictures above dry down to be much darker than they look in the tube. I wasn’t unhappy with the colors after they dried but it’s kind of misleading if you buy the product based on how it looks in the tube. These liquid lipsticks are drying, more drying than most others I have tried and settle into all my fine lines. One huge con about the shade Love Bug is that once it dries, if you even pass your finger over your lips with any slight pressure it will begin to crumble. It’s highly unfortunate that this happens especially since it’s such a nice deep shade. Sadly, most dark shades in general tend to be more difficult to formulate.

Overall, these liquid lipsticks do last a good while on the lips but I did need to reapply after the four hour mark. They did do pretty well after eating and drink though! The darker shade, Love Bug, did leave a stain on my lips and required baby oil in addition to my normal makeup remover wipes, the Neutrogena’s Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. If you’re interested in purchasing these I highly suggest looking up swatches of the colors you like before placing your order. Until next time, peace out!
