Finally my August Boxycharm has arrived and I can honestly say that I am pleased with the contents of this month’s box. Boxycharm is a $21 monthly beauty subscription box, which is known for sending only full sized products. The only thing that I wish Boxycharm had is a beauty profile so that you can help them pick which shades of eyeshadow or lipstick to send you. The items that I received this month were the following:

  • Enter Pronoun Blowtorch Bronzer (Value: $35)
  • Tarina Tarantino Conditioning Lip Sheen in Showroom (Value: $22)
  • ModelCo Cheek + Lips Tint in Rosy Red (Value: $22)
  • Morphe Brushes Powder Brush (Value: $19.99)
  • OFRA Cosmetics Eyeliner in Black (Value: $13)
  • Total Box Value: $111.99

Let me start off by saying that I did not like the shade I received for Tarina Tarantino’s Conditioning Lip Sheen. I received another nude shade, which I really don’t find flattering for my skin tone. The formula is heavy, glides smoothly, and is super creamy but it seems to accentuate every single line on your lips. It could be due to the formula or maybe that only happens with the light shades. The packaging of the lip sheen is sleek but heavy since it is made of metal and it is not that easy to open. When I tried opening the tube, it took me longer than expected and I accidentally twisted the bottom so the lip sheen got squashed inside; be careful opening yours!

The ModelCo Cheek + Lip Tint did make up for receiving the nude shade lip sheen though. This lip tint stains and is incredibly difficult to remove! I swatched the tint with my finger on the back of my hand and was unsuccessful at removing it with all of the following: Benefit’s They’re Real Remover, Baby Oil, and Neutrogena’s Makeup Remover wipes. When the tint comes out of the tube it looks black and very similar to Revlon’s Black Cherry but when blended on the skin and applied to the lips the colors sheers out slightly and looks lighter.

Enter Pronoun Blowtorch bronzer packaging is heavy and too bulky for my taste. I do like that it has a mirror but the material that the container is made out allows every fingerprint to be clearly seen which slightly bothers me. The bronzer itself is light and has an orange hint to it.

Morphe Brushes Powder brush is soft and dense. I have never tried their brushes but I have read multiple positive reviews. I would have preferred an eyeshadow brush instead because I have various powder brushes that I don’t reach out for a lot when doing my makeup. The OFRA eyeliner is a normal wooden pencil, it has a creamy formula, and has good pigmentation. I did watch a video by Jen Luv’s Reviews on Youtube where she received an OFRA eyebrow pencil with a crack in the middle so every time she would sharpen the pencil it would break. I noticed that my eyeliner also has a crack in the middle so I’m hoping that when the time comes to sharpen the pencil it doesn’t break.

Overall, August’s box was a hit for me excluding the nude lip sheen. If you have any questions about Boxycharm or this month’s box just comment down below or email me! If you would like to subscribe to Boxycharm you can find my referral link down below. Until next time, peace to the out!
