Today I bring you a review on some of Pür Cosmetics new Chrome Glaze High-Shine Lip Glosses which were provided to me for testing purposes. This new line carries six shades, is cruelty free, and costs $18 each.  Each lip gloss contains .07oz of product which is much less than other competitors; for instance, NYX Cosmetics Butter Gloss .27oz, Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss .13oz, Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lip Gloss .17oz, and Bareminerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss .15oz.

The packaging of these lip glosses is very minimalistic and sleek which I quite enjoy especially since you can see the shade of the gloss just by looking at the tube. Each one contains hints of shimmer that really help create the “chrome glaze” effect on your lips. The applicator is a doe foot with a pointed tip and it is slightly angled. I think this is honestly one of the best applicators I’ve used in a lip product because it fits perfectly into the contours of my lips and allows for really precise application while applying enough product for an even coat.

From the three shades I was given, Squad has to be my favorite because it acts as a muted warm peachy/nude on my lips. Squad and Arm Candy both are pretty consistent in formula and apply with full opacity. Heart Breaker is rather streaky as you can tell in the swatch picture above and unfortunately was rather unflattering on my NC37 skin tone. On a positive note, they are not very sticky but do have a slight grab to them. They’re stickier than NYX Butter Glosses but about as sticky as BareMinerals Moxie Glosses. You won’t have any of gloss still trying to stick together when opening your mouth, as other glosses do, thank goodness. When you remove the gloss you will have shimmer left over, so you may have to put extra time in using your makeup wipe or cleansing balm to try and take them off.

The wear time was about the same as I get with most of my lip glosses. If I didn’t have anything to eat or drink it would last between two and three hours. It does transfer when eating or drinking but that is to be expected. I think I will get the most wear out of Squad since its shade is similar to the shades I wear on a daily basis. I personally would be wary of trying the shade DIY from the line because it is very light and may be streaky like Heart Breaker. Overall, I think they perform pretty well and have a decent formula but the price point is pretty high for the amount of product you’re purchasing in my opinion. BareMinerals is also a higher-end brand sold at Ulta and their Moxie Marvelous Lip Gloss is sold for the same price but has double the amount of product. If you really like these colors with shimmer or the chrome glaze effect these would be perfect for you. Until next time, peace out!
