Button Up with Paisley Pattern Skinny Jeans*
I love patterns, shapes, and basically anything that revolves around geometry. I own various articles of clothing that have complex prints and patterns which sometimes I have a hard time styling but over the years I’ve learned a few tips and tricks which make it easier.
First tip: Wear neutral pieces with your prints.
In this outfit, my jeans had a paisley print so I made sure my top was a neutral color to clash with the jeans. I went with white but black, grey, or even beige could have matched.
Second tip: If you don’t want to wear neutral colors, pick one of the accent colors from the pattern to compliment your look. So using my jeans as an example, the accent colors are pastel yellow, orange, and pink. I could have chosen one of those pastel colors for my top and the look would have still looked cohesive and not overwhelming.
Third tip: DO NOT wear another pattern. This is just my personal opinion but I feel if your wear two patterns that do not match together then the whole look won’t be aesthetic pleasing and one pattern will overshadow another. Imagine I would have worn a plaid shirt with these paisley jeans, you probably wouldn’t know whether to look at my jeans or my shirt or maybe you’d think I picked my outfit with my eyes closed.
