Meeting Betsey Johnson at Macy’s!

Never did I ever think I’d one day get to meet a fashion designer, nonetheless Betsey Johnson. She launched a new collection at Macy’s based on the new movies Trolls. Leading up to the release of the collection and movie, she made some appearances to meet her fans. My friend let me know that she was coming to Macy’s in Dadeland Mall and I knew I had to go.

I got to Macy’s at 12pm, two hours before her arrival, knowing the line would be long and I wasn’t sure if only a limited amount of people were allowed to meet her. Waiting in line for two hours wasn’t that painful since they had a DJ playing music and workers dressed up as Trolls. The workers were rollerblading around with cups filled with cotton candy. As Betsey came down from the escalator everyone began to scream and shout with excitement, it was definitely not your ordinary day at Macy’s. She started to walk by everyone in the lines saying hi and all I could think about was how tiny she was! Soon enough, everyone started to get their picture taken with her and have a quick chat. When it was finally my turn, which surprisingly didn’t take too long since we were first in line for general admissions, she hugged me so tightly as if I was a long time friend she hand’t seen in a while. We chatted briefly but in those few minutes I could see how sweet and kind she was, especially when I got up to leave and she just held my hand. I loved that we were given a printout of our picture with Betsey immediately after meeting her and even sent a digital copy to our emails. It was a wonderful experience and even till this day I can’t believe I met her!
