Did the blogging life choose me or did I choose the blogging life?

I’ve been asked by a few followers to share my story about blogging. I honestly had never even thought about blogging when I was in high school. I hated everything and anything about writing essays in school. Spanish was actually my first language as a kid and thankfully I didn’t have any trouble learning English but lets say that grammar is still one of my weaknesses to this day.

#QueenOf The South Recreation*

#QueenOf the South Recreation and Watch PartyHi everyone, are you ready for this summer’s most jammed packed drama finally returning for season 2? That’s right, Queen of the South is back on USA Network every Thursday at 10/9c. Queen of the South follows the life of Teresa Mendoza, a very strong woman that is forced out of her luxurious life after her boyfriend is murdered. This drama has loads of action and suspense at every turn and if you’re not caught up, no worries. You can watch Season 1 on Netflix and then watch Season 2 live on Thursdays.

Better yet, invite all your friends to watch Season 2 with you! I’m the #QueenOf recreating different fashion looks seen on some of my favorite shows. So I know for my own watch party I’m going to ask everyone to try and dress like one of their favorite characters or favorite looks from the show. The outfit I chose is probably the most iconic look seen on Teresa, at least in my opinion, her full white outfit. Oh and if you’re going to be Teresa you can’t forget her oversized stylish sunglasses!

Welcome back everyone! If you don’t follow me on Instagram or Snapchat, which you really should, my laptop unfortunately gave up on me. I was without a computer for a little over a week!! I never realized how necessary my computer was until it broke. To keep up with new posts, I bought an adapter that allowed me to import pictures from my camera onto my phone. This little adapter, at a hefty $35 price tag, became my best friend very quickly. I’m just glad to be back and able to upload new posts for you all while trying to get back on track. Today isn’t Friday but I want to bring Fashion Friday a bit earlier since I was unable to post one last week.

This look is really focus on the harem pants that I bought at a local boutique called Xoho Boutique. The harem pants have slits on the sides and they used to have some pearl buttons sewed on the lower end; however, I thought they looked a bit tacky so I removed them. The pants were paired with a floral crop top because we all know I love patterns. A denim vest helped complete the outfit and bring another element to the overall look. Although I could have worn this outfit without it and still felt good.

I have a love hate relationship with sandals just because I prefer closed toed shoes. The sandals in this look are lace ups and caged so they cover most of your feet but you know, still wish they were closed at the front. No big deal though since they still fit nicely with the pants. If you prefer sneakers you could wear some plain white ones, which I actually need to get some because I have every single colored sneakers but white. I’m slacking clearly!

I can’t get enough of reflective sunglasses so I keep using my affordable ones from Forever 21. I need to go purchase some more so I appreciate any recommendations! Well hope you all enjoyed this look and until next time, peace out!

Retro Glam with ThredUp – Secondhand First*

*This post is in collaboration with ThredUp. Skirt was provided for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

Welcome back everyone! I’m so happy to finally share with you guys this new look I came up with in collaboration with ThredUp. ThredUp is a shop where you can buy and sell secondhand clothes. They provide a description on each item’s condition so that way you have an idea of how it will look like when it arrives. Sometimes the clothes will even have their tags still on them! For this look I chose this red leather skirt from Forever 21 that was being sold on ThredUp for a fraction of the original cost. The skirt was in mint condition, seriously it looked like it hadn’t been used at all.

When I saw this leather skirt I knew I wanted to do a retro glam look. Instantly I was in need of a Coca Cola t-shirt so the search began. My original idea: a white shirt with red letters but only in my dreams would I have found this perfect shirt. After searching high and low for this t-shirt I tried my luck at Target. Unfortunately, they only had some tees for men. So after searching at Target and various other stores, I thought about trying my luck at the Ross that was right next door. I walked to the women’s section and I saw a handful of these Coca Cola tees. Booyah, I was in shirt heaven basically.

Being that the t-shirt was a heather grey, I looked for shoes that matched. I thought these  pointy toe pumps from Nine West were exactly what this outfit needed. And of course to top it all off, I needed red lipstick. In this look I am wearing Rimmel’s The Only 1 Matte Lipstick in Call the Shots and on top I put Rimmel’s Oh My Gloss! Oil Tint in Pop Poppy, which I will have full swatches and reviews coming soon.

I hope you enjoyed this cool new look! If you’re doing some Spring cleaning definitely check out ThredUp and make some money selling clothes that you no longer wear or want. I know I will be doing this soon as well. Until next time, peace out!

Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2017*

*Avon’s Prima and MIU Color Diffuser were sent for consideration. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

Mothers Day Gift Guide 2017

When I think of May, the first thing to come to my mind is Mother’s Day. This year I put together a short gift guide for those of you who need some suggestions on what to get your mom. Funny thing is that in my family, the go-to gift for our mom is a perfume; however, I think it’s time to switch things up a bit so while making this guide I got some ideas for myself too. Hope you all enjoy and if you have any other ideas leave them down below, until next time peace out!

Jewelry – Alex and Ani Bangles

Mothers Day Gift Guide 2017

I think jewelry is always a great option as a gift because you know that they’ll get good use out of it. The only tough thing about jewelry is picking which item would fit their style best while still being in your price range. This year I saw this cute Mom And Daughter Infinite Connection Set Of 2 at Alex & Ani when I went to their store opening at International Mall. The set brings two bangles, one that says mother and the other says daughter with two infinite signs. This set emphasizes the infinite connection between a mother and daughter. Most Alex and Ani bangles come in silver or gold so you have two options which is helpful if your mom prefers one over the other. Also, Alex and Ani offers other individual bangles and sets specific for Mother’s Day that may be found here.

Aromatherapy Diffuser – MIU Color

Mothers Day Gift Guide 2017
Lately, I’ve noticed more and more people really into home aromatherapy diffusers. When I received this diffuser by Miu Color I showed it to my mother, aunt, and grandmother and the first thing they said was “hay que bonito,” which in English means “aw so pretty.” They all wanted to take it from me to put in their rooms, which I immediately put a stop to! They loved how this diffuser changes colors and has two settings for the mist spray. This is definitely a worth getting for a mom who likes their home to have different scents and even some added lights at night.

Mothers Day Gift Guide 2017So if you read the beginning of this post, you know I have a lot of experience purchasing perfumes. Pictured are three of my favorites that I would recommend as gifts plus they all smell amazing. I personally prefer strong scents and avoid fruity based perfumes. Beginning with the newest addition to my collection is Avon’s Prima which contains plum, bergamout, rose, oak moss, and patchouli. Next is Chanel’s N°5 Eau de Toilette containing ylang-ylang, neroli, rose, jasmine, vetiver, sandalwood, and vanilla. Lastly,  Giorgio Armani Beauty’s Armani Code with notes from blood orange, ginger, pear sorbet, sambac jasmine, orange blossom, seringa flower, lavender honey, precious woods complex, and vanilla. Perfumes can be tricky to purchase sometimes since everyone may have strong preference’s but if you know the type of scents your mom likes this may be a good route to go with for your gift.
