#QueenOf The South Recreation*

#QueenOf the South Recreation and Watch PartyHi everyone, are you ready for this summer’s most jammed packed drama finally returning for season 2? That’s right, Queen of the South is back on USA Network every Thursday at 10/9c. Queen of the South follows the life of Teresa Mendoza, a very strong woman that is forced out of her luxurious life after her boyfriend is murdered. This drama has loads of action and suspense at every turn and if you’re not caught up, no worries. You can watch Season 1 on Netflix and then watch Season 2 live on Thursdays.

Better yet, invite all your friends to watch Season 2 with you! I’m the #QueenOf recreating different fashion looks seen on some of my favorite shows. So I know for my own watch party I’m going to ask everyone to try and dress like one of their favorite characters or favorite looks from the show. The outfit I chose is probably the most iconic look seen on Teresa, at least in my opinion, her full white outfit. Oh and if you’re going to be Teresa you can’t forget her oversized stylish sunglasses!

Blue & Lace Maxi Dress*

Surprise!! I cut my hair. As much as I loved having medium/long hair it was time to just chop it off and start fresh. I love having short hair because the blow dry time is much shorter and it tends to frame your face more than long hair. The best thing about having short hair is that with dresses or blouses like this one that is strapless, your shoulders and neck get more attention. The first thing you probably notice is my huge gold necklace especially since there is no hair overlapping with it!

Maxi dresses used to scare me since I’m short, 5’2 to be precise. I thought this type of dress would just make me look even shorter but after giving them a shot I noticed that they actually do quite the opposite. Shocker, I know! Mind you I did wear heels because c’mon we can’t have the dress dragging all over the floor. I love how this maxi had a slit on the side so whenever the wind would blow you would get that “peek-a-boo” effect thus my leg would make an appearance. One of the most beautiful features in my opinion. The knot in the back with the opening before the blue portion of the dress begins is elegant.

Where I bought this look:

Dress & Necklace: Forever 21

Purse: Nine West

Watch: Fossil

Shoes: DSW

If you’re scared about maxi dresses like I was I suggest you give them a try and maybe you’ll change your mind just like I did. Until next time, peace out!

Short Renda Sundress Review*

Posted in Fashion, Reviews by

We’re finally in April which means temperatures are rising and summer is quickly approaching. In Florida it already feels like summer so a lightweight dress like this would be perfect for a casual evening out or for the beach.

The material is very light and soft since it’s made of rayon. I like how this dress is a halter top because during the hot summers you want to wear clothes that are sleeveless to try and remain cooler. The good thing about a halter top is that it allows for easy adjusting so this would be ideal for any body type. I feel like this dress runs pretty true to size but if I were to gain around 2 or 3 pounds more it probably would hug my waist tighter and not look flattering. I really liked the pattern on the dress and the fact that it’s white so it absorbs less heat which is great for hot summer days.

Mainly I will be using this dress to go to the beach or the pool with some sandals or wedges. This dress would look nice with your bathing suit underneath but I found it hard to wear this dress with a strapless bra. It wasn’t easy to hide the bra and you can’t really wear the dress without a bra so that’s why I’ve decided it’d be best put to use for beach days. Also this dress may be too short for anyone taller than me (I’m around 5’3) and might not be an ideal fit for those ladies with larger busts.

In addition, the dress has lace below the bust which I did not find itchy or uncomfortable. That lace area is embedded with elastics so the dress stretches to fit your frame. If you’re looking for a short sundress for the beach that isn’t too expensive then you might want to check this dress out. Peace to the outt!
