ColourPop Cosmetics is a brand new company who created these eye shadows with a unique formula. When you touch the shadows, the texture feels like a moist sponge rather than the texture of a pressed pigment. You can easily make dents in the shadows if you are not careful due to their fragile consistency. The texture can be compared to Maybelline’s Bouncy Blushes but these ColourPop shadows are even softer. There are seven different finishes available in this collection and I found that the most pigmented finishes out the six that I own was satin and ultra metallic. The shadows are so soft and buttery that they are best applied with your finger rather than a brush.

I’ve only tested one of the shadows for wear time and that was Amaze, a metallic finish shadow. The eyeshadow started to crease after four hours of wear even with Laura Mercier’s Eye Basics primer. The other thing I noticed was since Amaze is such a shimmery shadow, there were specks of glitter all over my face and the glitter easily transferred. After allowing the arm swatches to dry, I decided to rub my fingers over the swatches to see if they would smudge and to my surprise, none of them moved one millimeter.

If you’re looking to purchase any of ColourPop’s shadows I recommend trying the satin, ultra metallic, and matte finishes. They just released their matte finishes less than a week ago and I’m going to assume the pigmentation will be very similar to their satin’s pigmentation. Each shadow is only $5 which is very inexpensive for pretty good quality products especially since their shadows have such a distinctive texture. If you’re interested in purchasing these shadows or checking out their other products you can click here. So there’s my first impressions of these shadows and honest short review. Hope this helps you guys out, peace to the outt.

P.S. My initial purchase had two eyeshadows with a manufacturing problem so I contacted customer service and they sent me two replacements for no extra charge. I really enjoyed interacting with their support team!

I’ve been hearing really good things about colourpop, but never took the plunge. I LOVE amaze, sequin and bae! They’re so pretty!

Yeah they’re actually really good shadows for the price and have a huge variety of shades. I wore Bandit today and it did not move or crease! 😀
