KISS InstaWave Automatic Curler

Hey everyone, I have a brand new hair styling product to review for you. KISS is a beauty company well known for their false lashes and nail accessories; however, they just released hair styling products including the InstaWave Automatic Curler. This curling iron is unlike many others due to it’s fully automatic tangle-free curler. This iron has a curl dial with left/right curl directions and includes a low/high temperature switch (max: 420 degree Fahrenheit). The first thing that I noticed about the curling iron was that the barrel is surrounded by a few outer pegs. Once I used the iron, I realized that the pegs are essential in bringing the hair around the barrel. First step to using this curling iron is to grab a section of hair and put it behind one of the pegs as seen in the picture below.

Step 1

Deciding which way to turn the curl dial is a bit tricky at first but after some practice it becomes second nature. The time for the section of hair to completely be curled around the barrel depends on the length, therefore, if you have longer hair it will take a few seconds longer. In addition, just like in a regular curling iron try to use the whole barrel and don’t let the strand of hair to bunch up at the bottom. Once your hair is curled completely it should look like this:

Step 2

Now if you have thin hair you want to leave your hair around the barrel for about 8 seconds meanwhile if you have thicker hair it’d be around 13-15 seconds. If you want tighter curls you can hold the curls for 5-10 seconds extra or if you want beachy curls you can hold the curls for less time. The last step is to pull the iron down vertically and the curl is automatically released. I honestly did not experience any difficulty using this iron and I found that having the automatic feature is extremely beneficial because it lowers chance of burns. Curling wands are notorious for causing small finger burns since the hand is so close to the actual barrel but this does not happen with the Kiss InstaWave. The only thing that I found a bit off putting was that the iron does have a slight high pitched noise when connected but that’s due to the type of motor it uses. All in all, I would definitely recommend this curling iron to any one ranging from beginners to experts. This iron is easy to use and actually decreased the time it normally takes me to do my hair by about 5-10 minutes.
