Hey everyone I’m here with a review of NYX Cosmetics’s Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippies! Ulta was having a 40% off deal about three weeks ago and the lippies were selling for $1.79 each. I couldn’t resist so I bought all the ones that were available so I was able to get 8 out of the 12 from the collection. Additionally, I bought two of NYX’s Ultra Pearl Mania Loose Pearl Eye Shadows, goodness it sounds like a tongue twist doesn’t it? Therefore, I’ll be swatching those too! So without further ado lets start with the lippie swatches:
I decided to include a picture of my lips so that comparing would be easier for you guys. In this photograph my lips are completely bare.
Overall, these lippies are extremely moisturizing when first applied but dry pretty quickly. Also, some of the shades just aren’t as pigmented as others. Orange Splash and Happy Buddha are the least pigmented and boy was I disappointed with Orange Splash because there’s barely any orange in it! Why call it Orange Splash when it’s basically colorless?! *sigh* Happy Buddha & Orange Splash both have a hint of shimmer in them but they’re more noticeable in Happy Buddha. I didn’t notice the amount of nude shades in this collection until I received my order. Two of the nude shades, Peach Fuzzy and Hibiscus Tea Punch, are almost identical except that Hibiscus Tea Punch is slightly darker but again, it’s barely noticeable. I put both shades on one side of my lips and it looked like I was wearing only a single shade. Anyway, these lippies can be used for a day that you just want a subtle color on the lips to go do errands or go to school. You twist them up which makes it easy to use on a daily basis and they have a nice size to just throw into your purse. I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing though because I think there are lippies that moisturize a bit more than these. The only colors I would repurchase are the pigmented ones like Berry Mojito, Sex on the Beach, and Pomegranate Margarita.
Now these babies are my new-found loves! I was skeptical whether or not I would like loose eyeshadow because it seemed they would make a huge mess. These are the first loose eyeshadows that I’ve ever tried and I am so pleased with them. The quality is spectacular and the pigmentation is phenomenal!!! I’m just upset that I didn’t buy more. I applied these shadows over NYX Cosmetic’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk as a base with a wet shader brush. The colors popped instantly, applied smoothly with no patches, and dried quickly. It seems as they will blend out nicely too.
The loose eyeshadows can be purchased at Ulta (online or in stores) and NYX Cosmetic’s website meanwhile the lippies are no longer on the Ulta website so you may find them on NYX’s website as well. Hope the swatches were helpful for you guys and enjoyed the short review. I did take all the pictures in the same lighting hoping that the colors would look exactly as they do in real life. Let me know if you have any questions down below! if there are any other products you would like for me to review I’ll be glad to do so. Au revoir my dear followers!
